Words from the Honey Badger
Justin Lindine is one of my favorite cyclocross racers. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him once for about 30 seconds. Probably one of the nicest guys I have ever met in the cycling community. Wait, everyone is nice?! Wow. Bike racers are great people.
In his latest article for Embrocation Magazine, I came across a line that many of my friends would think of me when reading:
Obviously,...

The Little 500
Saw my family yesterday. Told them a little about the team. Showed my mom a video of highlights from Nationals. After grimacing at the crashes and the mud, she goes, “And you really want to do this?” Ha.
Anyway, I was talking with my dad, and as it turns out, he actually did a little bike racing in college. Something called The Little 500.
Dad went to DePauw out in Indiana, (Fun...
Day-ummm those are some nice bikes! →
Going to get my hands on this!
As much as I hate to be part of the “look” of cycling, there is one look that I do want to be a part of; the Mavic Fury look. Not sure what it is about these shoes, I find them so sexy.
I’m not one to confirm to any sense of style. In New England, these shoes are “the shit.” Everyone who wants to look the part, is the part, aspires to be the part or anything...

Getting out there
Days like today; dreary, cold, and windy are just no fun when riding alone. Its hard to conjure up that will to ride when you’re going to be heading out there alone. So, I’ve decided to make today an off day. Maybe head to the gym to do some leg workouts but nothing really all that interesting.
I have spent a TON of time on the Giant website today. Just kind of browsing. Seeing...

ATTN Boston cyclists / people who know how to ride...
We’re radsport (German for “cycling”) - New England’s newest cyclocross team - and we’re looking for riders!
What’s cyclocross, you ask? Well, here’s the Wikipedia page, but it’s probably easier to understand with a visual: Highlights from the 2012 Cyclocross National Championships.
We’re sponsored by High & Mighty Beer Co. and Giant...

...one GIANT leap for radsport!
word guru…hah! I mean, I’m an editor by day, so I suppose the shoe fits.
anyway - to the news!
We’ve finally secured sponsorship for the team by way of Giant Cycling World in Boston, and we couldn’t be happier. Kinda makes you wanna dance like this.
We still have to hammer out specifics with them in terms of bikes, kits, equipment, etc. But wheels are in motion! (Pun...

Today was a Great Day
I got myself up at 6:50 this morning. As a teacher, even when you have the week off, this is as “late” as I seem to sleep these days. Oh well.
8:00 a.m. - I had to meet with a friend for what we thought was going to be trail riding on cyclocross bikes. It was. But by 10:00 a.m. I realized it was going to be a hell of a lot tougher than expected. You see, my friend Matt was quite the...
Love What You Do
There are things we love. Things we hate. Things we love to hate. And things we hate to love. Cycling, for me, is no different.
This past weekend, I rode with a group of friends who will later be known as my road team. Good people who don’t expect much of me as a road rider because that’s not what I am - I am a cyclocross racer and a road enthusiast. Big difference.
Things I love...

Ronde de Rosey
What a slow day for us.. I guess that’s what a federal holiday does to ya..no real news on anything. Leads are there but nothing out of the ordinary. Slowing driving myself thinking about where I’m ready to go with radsport, but just waiting on eventual sponsors to give the final go ahead before any of the big work gets going.
Regardless, its only the end of winter with spring just...

Cross in 1994
I came across this in the morning and had to point out the bike. Notice the front shocks. This bike in ‘94 was truly a mountain/road combo!

work-from-home Fridays
Work-from-home Fridays is a pretty sweet deal. I can roll out of bed, make coffee, and come right back to bed. Means I can work in nude if I so choose. »> Naked Fridays :)
But it also means I have even more time to browse the interwebs. Currently addicted to the Culture Cycles blog,
and can’t get enough of this song.
For serious, though, I got up this morning at 530a and went...
